System of critical convictions between cyber-optimists and –pessimists, that aims to balance their arguments. When using the term critical, we’re referring to the process of keeping a watchful eye on the mass media by using learned media literacy skills to detect bias, biased representations, inaccurate statements and falsities, and/or the value messages of a text. Media „texts” include not only print forms of communication, but also broadcast and electronic media such as films, television, computer software products, and the like.
